A lifetime study of martial arts, mysticism, and three years with the Northern Paiutes training to be a shaman and healer taught Master Day psychological and spiritual techniques long used for self-healing. Day has led a challenging life which prepared him well for his successful fight against bladder cancer. He has always had a strong interest in the mind-body-spirit trinity and approached life with a mystical outlook. Just months after being a high school soccer star he fell 150 ft. in a demolition event, ending up in a wheelchair as a paraplegic, and at 18 had to start a new life. He studied Karate, spiritual healing, coached soccer, went to college, and wrote. In 1997 he was a US National Champion wheelchair fencer, fenced internationally for the US for nine years and competed in the Sydney Games.
However, in January 2014 Master Day was diagnosed with adenocarcinoma cancer of the bladder. In Defeating the Big C the Martial Artist’s Way-with Diet and Discipline, he shares an eight-part plan utilizing modern medicine combined with diet science and exercise, ancient traditional healing practices, modern psychology, and the best from the world of alternative treatments. Guiding you to be in control of your body, your life, your treatments, and your self-healing, Day gives you the tools to fight holistically with your mind, body, and spirit. In 2017 and 2018 he was the ISKA US Open World Champion in adaptive Karate, and is now a five years plus free and clear survivor.
